Two of us enjoyed a truly wonderful tour of Guilin, Yangshuo and surrounding countryside. Many thanks to CnAdventures for providing very helpful assistance and our guide, David, who was really terrific, both accommodating and informative. The trip provided a great deal of variety as we hiked, biked and rafted through some of the most gorgeous countryside I have ever seen. An unplanned side trip to the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terrace was a most worthwhile addition to our itinerary. Another nice aspect to the trip was the opportunity to sample some excellent local food along the way--stuffed snails and sticky rice cooked in bamboo were a couple of highlights along with rice wine and osmanthus tea.

Hiking was quite tough though.

We had an awesome experience during our one month travels through China during which we had 6 seperate guides and drivers all of whom were very knowledgable and helpful. The highlights for us were

1) staying at Mount Emieshan overnight and watching the sunset and sunrise the following morning.

2) Visiting the Panda breeding centre at Chengdu.

3) Jiuzhai and Huanglong National Parks

4) 5 days treking the Great Wall with Leo who was an exceptionally good guide and also great company

5) Lhasa, the back streets and markets. So very different from other large Cities in China. Lets hope it can maintain its uniqueness.

Many thanks to Luna for organising all our travelling and accommodation. We would certainly be using the Company again for our next big adventure.

I had a great time! The itinerary was just what I had in mind. It was off the beaten path and there were not too many tourists either. The locals were warm and friendly, and the scenery was stunning! And the local guide have great local knowledge!
